What are Banners?

Banners are a quick, visual way to share important communications with your people. They appear on the Home screen in Ocasta, helping you highlight key messages the moment users log in.

You can choose where the banner component sits on the Home screen within the Admin area.

Banners can link to:

  • A news post
  • An article
  • A course
  • An app
  • An external webpage

Users can scroll through banners anytime, from anywhere. They’re ideal for promoting company events, campaigns, important updates or timely announcements.


Banner Settings

You have full control over how banners are displayed — and you can update these settings at any time. Changes go live as soon as you click Update.

To access settings:

  1. Click Banners in the left-hand sidebar
  2. Select Settings

You can then choose:

Display order

  • Ordered – banners appear in a set sequence
  • Random – banners display in a random order

Auto-rotate

  • Turn automatic banner rotation on or off
  • If enabled, choose how long each banner is displayed before switching

How do I add a Banner?

For best results, banner images should be 970px x 480px.

Templates:

To add a banner:

  1. Click Banners in the left-hand sidebar
  2. Click Add Banner

Complete the banner details:

Title

Add a title for internal reference (this is not visible to users).

Banner Content – Image

Click Add Image to upload from your computer or select from your media gallery.

Recommended size: 970px x 480px.

Choose Content Type

Select where your banner will link to:

  • Article – link to an existing article
  • News Post – link to a news item
  • App – link to an app
  • Course – link to a course in Ocasta
  • External Link – add a full URL (including https://)

Who can view this?

You can target banners to specific audiences, including:

  • Location type
  • Location
  • Region
  • Predefined audiences
  • Role

Role targeting can be used on its own or combined with other targeting options (for example, all Store Managers in a specific region).

Publishing options

  • Publish immediately
  • Or schedule a future publish date

How do I change the order of my Banners?

You can reorder banners at any time.

Option 1: Drag and drop

  1. Go to your banner list
  2. Use the Reorder column on the left
  3. Drag banners into your preferred position

Option 2: Set a display order number

  1. Select a banner from the list

    In Post Attributes (right-hand side), enter the display order number

    • For example, enter 1 to show it first

Once finished, click Publish to apply your changes.
