How to set a start condition on a review template

Available with the following hubs:

What start conditions are for

Start conditions allow Review Managers to add extra eligibility rules before a review can be started.

For example, you might want to make sure a team member:

  • Has been reviewed using a specific template within the last few months
  • Scored at least a certain percentage in that previous review

This adds a layer of quality control, making sure the right steps have happened before a review goes ahead.

Setting a start condition

  1. Open a review template (or create a new one).
  2. At the top, go to the Start condition tab.
  3. Toggle Add start condition to "Yes". You’ll see some extra fields appear.

Then fill in the following:

  • To start this review the user must have been a subject of
    • Choose a review template from the list. Only person-based templates will show here.
  • Within the last
    • Enter how many months back you want the system to check. Use whole numbers only.
  • With a minimum score of
    • Add the lowest percentage score they need to have achieved in that review.

When you're done, make sure to publish or update the template.

What users see

When someone tries to start a review with a start condition, Ocasta checks if they meet the criteria. If they don't, they won’t be able to start the review yet.
