Require lessons to be completed in order
You can require learners to complete lessons in sequence by enabling Require lessons to be completed in order when creating or editing a course.
- Go to the Manage page> Course Management > All courses
- Find the course you want to edit. Select it and press edit.
- Go to the Management tab.
- Turn on Require lessons to be completed in order.
When this setting is enabled, learners must complete each lesson before they can access the next one. This is useful for courses where each lesson builds on the previous one, helping to create a structured learning experience.
Note: When you preview a course in the Manage area, it won't currently show the Lessons must be completed in order setting in action. To see how the course behaves, you'll need to publish it.
We'll add support for this in-course preview in a future update.
In the meantime, if you want to test the learner experience, you can publish the course and give access only to your own role. This lets you see how the course works with Lessons must be completed in order enabled without making it available to everyone.
