Ocasta Branding Guide
You can update key branding elements in Ocasta without contacting support. Account owners can edit welcome screen content, platform branding, colours, and email-related messaging directly from the admin.
This gives you more control over how your platform looks and feels for your frontline teams. It also means you can keep branding, terminology, and messaging aligned with your organisation whenever things change.
To access these options, go to Admin → Options → Branding.
Below is a guide to each section and what you can customise.
Welcome settings
The Welcome section controls what people see before they log in. This is the first impression of your Ocasta platform, so it should reflect your organisation clearly.

Team name
This is the name shown on the welcome screen for your organisation or team. Many organisations use their company name.
Welcome button text
You can customise the text on the main button that users click to begin the login process.
For example:
- Continue
- Login
- Let's Go!
Choose wording that feels natural for your organisation.
Login username field label
This controls the label shown above the username field on the login screen.
For example, some organisations prefer:
- Employee ID
- Username
Use wording that matches how your teams normally sign in.
Failed login attempt message
This message appears when someone enters incorrect login details. You can customise this text to match your internal language or to provide clearer guidance.
For example, you might include instructions such as contacting an internal support team.
Background image
You can upload a background image for the welcome screen.
Recommended format:
- File type: PNG or JPG
- Recommended size: 1920 × 1080 pixels
Choose an image that represents your organisation while keeping the screen clear and readable. Avoid images that are too busy or contain lots of text.
Platform settings
The Platform section controls branding within the Ocasta platform after users log in. These settings shape the visual experience across the system.

Logo
Your logo appears in the top navigation bar across the platform.
Recommended format:
- File type: PNG or JPG
- Recommended size: 960 × 320 pixels
Larger uploads are usually accepted and automatically resized for the platform.
Brand colour
Your brand colour is the main colour used across the platform interface.
This colour appears in areas such as:
- Buttons
- Highlights
- Text accents
- Borders
Choose a colour that reflects your brand while remaining easy to read on screen.
Brand hover colour
The brand hover colour is used when a user hovers over buttons or interactive elements.
We recommend using a slightly darker version of your brand colour. This creates a clear visual response when users interact with the platform.
Background colour
The background colour is used for the main page area behind your content.
We recommend choosing a pale or neutral colour so the platform content remains the focus. Strong or dark backgrounds can make content harder to read and distract from tasks.
Panel colour
The panel colour is used for panels and cards across the platform.
This includes areas such as:
- Content cards
- Information panels
Most organisations choose a colour that contrasts slightly with the background so panels are easy to distinguish.
Background image
You can also upload a background image for the platform instead of using a background colour.
If you use an image, keep it subtle and low contrast. The platform content should always remain the focus, so avoid patterns or images that feel too busy.
Your logo and brand colours are automatically used in system emails such as the welcome email and forgotten password email, helping keep the experience consistent for your users. Read about how to customise welcome email text here.

Custom colours
The Custom colours section allows you to define colours used when creating content such as news posts and articles.
You can add multiple colours that appear in the text editor when writing content. This makes it easier to keep formatting consistent across updates.
For example, you might add colours used for:
- Headings
- Key messages
Once saved, these colours appear as selectable options when formatting text in news or article content.
Rewards programme name
If your organisation uses the Kudos rewards feature, you can customise the name of your rewards programme.
Many organisations rename this to match internal terminology, for example:
- Recognition programme
- Rewards hub
- Team rewards
Updating the name helps the feature feel more familiar and aligned with how your organisation recognises great work.
Dash Icon & Article Category Colours
You can change the colour of dash icons and article category icons yourself. Find out how here.

Comments and Reactions
This section appears on the right-hand side of the branding page.
Here, you can choose whether new articles and news posts have comments and/or reactions enabled by default. These settings act as a starting point—when creating or editing individual articles or news items, you can still adjust comments and reactions as needed.

Other options
In the Other Options section on the right-hand side of the branding page, you can configure your unread news time period. This determines how long news items are considered “unread” for users. For example, a user will have unread news if they haven’t viewed all items published within the last X days—where X is the value you set.
You’ll also see an option to enable favourites. This feature is coming soon, so stay tuned for updates.

A quick tip on branding
When customising your platform, aim for clarity over decoration.
Your frontline teams use Ocasta to get answers, complete tasks, and stay on top of operational changes. Simple, consistent branding helps them focus on what matters in the moment — not on navigating a busy interface.
If in doubt, keep colours simple, backgrounds light, and content easy to read.
That way your teams spend less time guessing and more time getting the job done.
If you need help with branding or have any questions about these settings, contact Ocasta support and we’ll be happy to help 👍
