How to enable task assignment outside users roaming permission
By default, when you assign a task within a Review, you can only assign it to users within your roaming permissions.
Here’s a quick refresher on how roaming permissions work for tasks:
None – Roam within their location:
Can assign tasks to users within their own location.
Region – Roam within their region:
Can assign tasks to users in their own location and any locations within their region (and sub-regions).
Everywhere – View all locations:
Can assign tasks to any user in any location.
For some organisations, these limits can feel restrictive. That’s why there’s a setting at the review template level that gives you more flexibility. This is currently only available for location based reviews.
With this setting enabled, frontline users can assign tasks to people outside of their location or roaming permissions — like regional managers, support teams, or anyone else who needs to stay in the loop. It’s a simple way to make sure the right people get the right tasks, no matter where they’re based.
How to enable task assignment outside roaming permissions
- Go to Admin and open Reviews.
Select the review template you want to edit.
Make sure you’re on the Settings tab.
Scroll down to find the toggle ‘Allow users to assign tasks beyond their roaming permission?’
- By default, this is set to No for all templates.
- Switch the toggle to Yes to enable the feature.
- Choose one of the two options:
- Anyone – allows any user completing the review to assign a task to any user in any location.
- Selected roles – allows users to assign tasks only to people with specific roles. Use the box below to enter which user roles can be assigned tasks.
- Once you’re done, click Update to save your changes.
- Let your users know they’ll need to update their app to version 2025.11 (or later) to use this feature.
