Task reassignment and activity log

Sometimes a task just needs to go to someone else — maybe the original person is away, has left the business, or it turns out someone else is better placed to complete it. Reassigning helps keep work moving so tasks don’t get stuck.

Task assignment permission

If your user role includes the task assignment permission, you can reassign tasks to another user.

The users you can reassign tasks to depend on your review roaming permissions. For example, if you only have permission to view your own location, you can only reassign tasks to users within that location.

By default, Account Owners and Location Supervisors have this permission.
If you’d like any custom roles to have the ability to reassign tasks, please contact support@ocasta.com and we’ll help you to set it up for the required roles.

How to reassign a task:

You can reassign a task in the apps or on the web.

  1. Open the task you want to reassign

  2. At the top of the task, click Reassign

  3. Search for or select the new assignee

  4. Click Apply

The new assignee will receive an email notification.


The activity log (at the bottom of the task) will record these changes so, the original assignee and the user who reassigned the task.
